Fermeate Wins the Bezos Centre Sustainable Protein Challenge at NUS Singapore
Fermeate was selected as one of three winners of the inaugural Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein Challenge at the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit in Singapore.
We're proud to share that Fermeate has been named a winner of the inaugural Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein Challenge, hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) in partnership with Enterprise Singapore. The announcement was made at the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit 2025.
About the Challenge
The Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein @ NUS competition targets early-stage ventures developing next-generation protein solutions spanning fermentation, cultivated meat, plant-based alternatives, and agro-industrial by-product valorization. This year's inaugural edition drew applications from across the globe, with three winners selected to receive funding and ecosystem access in Singapore.
What This Means for Fermeate
As a winner, Fermeate receives up to S$175,000 in funding and in-kind support, along with access to Singapore's world-class innovation infrastructure, including laboratory and office space, mentorship, and pilot-trial opportunities. The prize also opens doors to regional scaling support as we continue expanding our platform across international markets.
Singapore has positioned itself as a leading hub for alternative protein and fermentation innovation, and we're excited to deepen our presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
What's Next
We believe light-controlled fermentation has a major role to play in making sustainable protein production economically viable at scale. Recognition like this reinforces that the industry sees the same opportunity we do. We look forward to working within Singapore's ecosystem and connecting with partners across the region.
If you're a fermentation company, investor, or potential collaborator, we'd love to hear from you.
