Fermeate Named a Finalist in the Global Food Tech Awards 2026

Fermeate has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Global Food Tech Awards 2026 Americas heat, competing alongside leading food and agriculture innovators.

We're honored to announce that Fermeate has been selected as a finalist in the Global Food Tech Awards 2026 Americas heat. The awards recognize companies tackling the most urgent challenges in food and agriculture, and we're proud to be recognized alongside some of the most innovative teams in the industry.

About the Awards

The Global Food Tech Awards bring together entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders to spotlight breakthrough innovation in food technology. The Americas finalists were announced in February 2026, with the winner and runners-up to be revealed at Future Food-Tech in San Francisco on March 19–20, 2026.

Head Judge Jess Spiring noted that this year's finalists are "not only shaping product categories, but the future of food itself", a sentiment we whole heartedly agree with as we work to fundamentally change how fermentation is controlled.

Fermeate in the Running

Fermeate was recognized for our light-controlled fermentation platform, which uses optogenetics to give fermentation producers dynamic, real-time control over microbial behavior without modifying their existing tanks. The ability to steer a fermentation run rather than just observe it addresses one of the industry's most persistent cost and yield challenges.
